COMPARATIVE STUDY OF LECTURE AND DISCUSSION METHODS OF TEACHING PHYSICS TO NON-SCIENCE BIASED STUDENTS IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS

The study was aimed at improving the performance of non-science biased students who have to undertake a course in general Physics in tertiary institutions. The Performance has been very poor with the general lecturing method of Teaching. The introduction of discussion method of teaching was found to have significant effect P=0.05 for teaching Physics to ND1 Business students in Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri using student’s t-test and can therefore be recommended to all tertiary institutions.
